Hello Kindergarten Friends,
My name is Mrs. Caouette (Cow-wet). I have been teaching at the Willett School since 2003, and in Attleboro for twenty-three years. I have also worked at the Early Learning Center at Thacher School. Prior to coming to Attleboro, I was a teacher at the Bradley Hospital School in East Providence, Rhode Island, and for the Greenfield (MA) Public Schools. I just LOVE teaching, but teaching full-day kindergarten is my favorite grade! I was fortunate to pilot the first full-day kindergarten program at Willett back in 2007 and have been teaching kindergarten ever since.
I studied to become a teacher at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and Providence College where I received my Master's degree. I have continued my education there and at the Harvard Extension School in Psychology. I have also taken many courses at the Rhode Island School of Design to learn to draw and illustrate. I will draw for you a lot in kindergarten. Someday, I hope to write and illustrate my own children's book.
I think you are really going to like kindergarten. We will learn to read, write and do math together. You will get to explore and play in our classroom centers. You will make lots of special friends. I am so happy I get to be your teacher this year.
~Mrs. Caouette
